The school itself occupies a large plot, offering children playgrounds, fields and garden spaces for endless fun. Classrooms are large, bright, airy and filled with opportunity for playful learning.

Age Range

Children can join us at Little Downsend Epsom from the age of 2 up until the age of 7 (Year 2). For Year 3, children are able to progress seamlessly to the Main School in Leatherhead.

    Located at the end of Norman Road, just a few minutes outside Epsom Town Centre, Little Downsend Epsom is in the perfect spot to feel quiet and leafy, whilst also being within a short distance of Epsom’s high street and train stations.

    Little Downsend Epsom has a calm and relaxed feel about it. Nestled at the end of the road, it occupies a large residential property, and offers children big classrooms and the latest technology, whilst also feeling cosy and a home from home. First Steps and Rising Reception have a classroom with a large open, yet safe, outdoor space, covered so they can explore whatever the weather. Playground equipment, pet enclosure, bug hotels and a large field give the feeling of space without being overwhelming.
    All three Little Downsend Schools benefitted from a £500k+ investment in Summer 2023, upgrading the educational opportunities for children of all ages, providing light, bright classrooms and amazing spaces for outdoor play.

    Our approach.

    When children join us at Little Downsend Epsom, they join a friendly and welcoming family of staff, parents and children, quickly settling into the routines and fun of the day.

    Our primary focus is making sure that children are happy and settled, whilst also making sure that every day is full of adventure, whether they are two or seven! Although each year groups’ day is structured slightly differently due to their age, the general ethos is the same – every day should be fun, interactive, playful and exciting. The learning is subtle without children even being aware they are soaking up new skills every single day.

    Our team of qualified teachers form exceptionally strong bonds with children, knowing how to get the best from them through support, or stretch or a little bit of both.

    We love to get outside and enjoy our natural spaces, so learning is often taken outside into the garden to explore the mud kitchen, feed the guinea pigs and investigate the goings-on in our bug hotel.
