We like nothing more than welcoming families to Downsend. Our Open Mornings are designed to give you the chance to meet the team, see the school in action, and to get a feel for the school and the people that make it tick.
We also run regular Talk and Tours for small groups of families and 1 to 1 tours with our Heads.

Discover Little Downsend: A Fun-Filled Morning for Pre-Reception Children
Join us for an exciting 'Discover Little Downsend' event, designed especially for pre-reception-aged children! Hosted at our Little Downsend Schools in Epsom and Leatherhead, these mornings are packed with engaging activities that showcase our award-winning approach to early years education.
As recipients of the prestigious ISA 2024 Award for Excellence and Innovation in Early Years, we are proud of our focus on nurturing young learners with creativity, confidence, and curiosity.
Activities will include:
- Write Dance, Message Centres, and Talk 4 Writing: Fun ways to inspire early writing skills.
- Digital Mastery: Explore programmable robots, Lego Express, and animation to develop digital confidence.
- Global Perspective: Embrace outdoor learning with Forest School adventures and planting activities.

Our Talk and Tours will be led by either Clare Kirkham (Head of Junior) or Ian Thorpe (Executive Head). Running on specific days of the week, for up to 5 families at a time, you will have the chance to see the school in action, visit classes, and see our specialist facilities in use.

At all 3 of our Little Downsend schools we offer small group Talk and Tour sessions every week with members of our Senior Leadership and Admissions team. Giving you the chance to see the schools in action, and to talk to our staff about your child, and what our school can offer, they are the best way to get a feel for what Little Downsend is all about.
